Fall is here and soon it will be winter, which means the holidays are right around the corner. And what goes hand in hand with the holiday season? Shopping. From Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve, everyone is out at the mall or online shopping. But did you ever stop to think of why you’re able to get all your needs and purchases? It’s all thanks to truck drivers.
It’s no secret that truck driving is an almost thankless job, but it shouldn’t be. Truck drivers spend the majority of their lives on the roads getting the goods we take for granted to us on a daily basis. From sweaters to soda pop, we rely on truck drivers for our every day needs.
During the holiday season the pressure is on to make delivery times and get back in a timely manner. Unfortunately, it’s also a dangerous time to be on the road. With people visiting their families and driving from mall to mall, road rage is at an all time high. Truck drivers take the precautions to make sure they are staying safe on the road so you stay safe as well. They make it their a duty to keep the roads safe despite the winter weather and drivers who are in a hurry.
This Thanksgiving when we are all sitting at our beautiful tables filled with every holiday food possible, surrounded by loved ones that we get to see regularly, try to remember the many men and women that are driving along and missing out on that Thanksgiving feast. They are out there getting a job that only they could do done. So if you see a truck driver at a gas station, try to thank them for all that they do and all that they face in their line of work.
